Happy A.B.B.!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, BIRTHDAY, BIRTHDAY!! This past weekend we went to Park City, UT to Celebrate our Anniversary on the 25th, my Birthday on the 26th, and Jonny's Birthday on the 27th. It was soo much fun! Our adventure started on Friday and we stayed until Tuesday. Couldn't have asked for a better vaca, and at the perfect time. We both were in need of a break from life!

We stayed at The Marriott, with only one stupid inconvenience. Apparently if you use a 'debit' card and not a 'credit' card they put a hold of $40 on your account per night. GAY! Of course you get it back at the end but what a huge inconvenience.

I think my favorite part of a hotel room is the maid service coming in and making your bed everyday, and putting fresh towels out! I love it! That's a vacation to me, no cleaning!

This is our luggage for 4 days. No joke. Sadly to say but Jonny only has one bag (it's a big bag), but the rest are mine.

On Friday when we got there, we checked in and went to Old Main and walked the street for a little bit. I saw these shoes in one of the store window's. I don't know how you could walk in them, or who would buy them. We went inside the store, and I kid you not there was nothing under $150. Outrageous! Call me cheap but I am not buying a shirt for $190.
Saturday we went back to Old Main since we didn't get to spend alot of time there on Friday. Walked the whole thing, it was so much fun! Alot of fun cute stores and galleries.
One of the pet stores had an 'obstacle' in front of the door. This HUGE dog was laying right in front of the door, and was dead to the world. Everyone just walked over him to go inside. It was pretty funny. He didn't care at all!
Havin fun!

At the end of the day though I was done!
Saturday night we went to a movie and saw Made of Honor. So cute- well I liked it, I don't know if Jonny did :)
Then for our Anniversary we went to Ruby Tuesday's. It was soo yummy! (don't worry Jonny did eat, they just already took his plate away)
The Pizza Hut story: Park City is one of the only places that Pizza Hut still does the all you can eat buffet. We were so excited to eat there, Jonny more than I. So on Friday night we figured we go there for dinner and showed up around 6:00, only to be told 'the buffet is only from 11-2pm'. Oh no big deal, we'll just go tomorrow for lunch. Saturday we show up around noon to be told 'the buffet is only Monday thru Friday'. UUUGGGGHHHH. OK fine, we'll go on Monday. We go on Monday to see this sign... (see below). Soo irritating, and just our luck!
FINALLY! We ended up going on our way out on Tuesday. But it wasn't that good :(
Roxy at last!! We checked out on Tuesday and went down to Salt Lake to pick up Roxy at Jill's, and missed her soo much. Thanks so much Jill and Delan for watching her while we were gone! This was Tuesday night... Roxy loves to cuddle. They were both so worn out by the time that we got home. They were probably asleep like this for an hour or so.
We both took Wednesday off to do laundry and spend an extra day with each other before we head back into reality. But we both have been sick since we got home! Bummer!

Game night at the Goff's

Last night we went over to Colin and Jess's for dinner. Jess is the best cook ever! And we love going over there for a good home cooked meal, because that doesn't happen at our house very often unless Jonny is cooking. They have Scene It on the X-Box, and we love playing that game! As you can see it gets very intense.

Towards the end of the game, when your points can get doubled and tripled and you want to make sure you get the correct answer, I casually leaned over and hit the wrong button on Jonny controler- he was soo mad because that made him loose the game... but at least for once I wasn't in last place!
Cute couple! (I need to learn how to powder my nose, my face is always so shiny in pictures. I hate it!)
Kennerman! The Goff's have the cutest kids! Kenner is always full of energy!
It seems like Lily's nap time is when we get there, I sometimes don't know how she can sleep thru all our noise...
But she woke up happy of course, she is seriously happy all the time with the biggest grin on her face... but I'm sure she has her moments. Colin would definitly tell ya that :)Lily gettin smooched. Lily is so beautiful! Like mother like daughter. Thanks guys for having us over all the time- we have so much fun!!

Salt Lake Weekend

This weekend we went down to Salt lake (as usual) for a bbq at Jill's for Desiree's parents who were in town. Thanks Jonny for running the bbq! Of course he had to put an apron on so he didn't get his clothes dirty :)
It was really yummy! And it was so nice to see Des's family again.
Just wanted to say Happy Mother's day to all you Mom's! Below is the greatest Mom (grandma to me) ever!
On our way home yesterday we stopped at Jill's to pick up Roxy and James Craig was there, I just love this kid! He gets bigger and bigger every time I see him. Can't wait till we all live closer.
This is how Roxy looks for 2 days when she comes home from Jill's house. She is pooped! She playes so rough with all the dogs at Jill's house (even when they don't want to play with her), she loves it!!

Love ScrapBlog!

Can I just say I love my new discovery- ScrapBlog! I am still just learning, but it is so easy and so fun. I think I am spending too much time on one page though, this took me forever. I think starting it from scratch also took up alot of that time. They do have pre made pages, which I think I should start doing from now on until I get the hang of it, and the creative juices start flowing.
While making this one though of our friends made me think about all our friends and how much I miss them! And I know Robert is on this 3 times, no favorites... just couldn't find any other recent pictures of all our other pictures. So friends this is a sign that we don't hang out enough because I don't have any recent pictures of ya. We are going to Salt Lake tomorrow and I am super excited.

May 1st

My poor flowers! They are dying with all the 'weather changes' here in Logan! HOT COLD HOT COLD! Just make up your mind, as long as it's warm. This is what we woke up to this morning, May 1st... Sad!
I think we lost spring, I don't even care- bring on Summer!
On a lighter note, Jonny finished his last final yesterday! Wahoo! He did pretty good this semester, I am soo proud of him! Well lately we've been letting Roxy not sleep in her kennel at night and 'roam' the house so to say, and the last few night she's been doing good. Only cries the first little while to get up on the bed, but then quits, and we haven't found any 'surprises' in the morning lately either. So today I drove Jonny to work (due to the nasty weather) and came home to finish getting ready for work, and made the executive decision to leave her out of her kennel today while we both were gone all day. She is so good kennel trained but I just feel bad locking her up all day. Jonny doesn't know yet that she is out, hopefully we don't come home to a huge mess! Keep your fingers crossed!

IEEE BBQ

Jonathan is on the IEEE council at school, and on Friday night they had thier end of the year BBQ. It had snowed the day before so we were pretty nervous that it was going to be freezing, but it turned out to not be that bad. But it was still chilly. (Thanks Jess for letting me 'steal' some pics from you) :)
Colin and Jonathan playing football with Kennerman!
It turned out to be a really good turn out.

Love You

Monday I walked out to my car to find this little note, and flowers on my windshield. My cute hubby is too good to me sometimes!
Thanks Love!

Wedding Plans

A little late on posting (Sorry Megan), but this past weekend I went down to Salt Lake to go the the Wedding Planning Picnic in Murry Park. It was so nice outside, and it was fun seeing my family! I feel like I haven't been to Salt Lake in forever, which it has been about a month or so, so for me that is. Here is the bride-to-be, and miss Tora Bell...

James Craig and I.

James Craig thinking about running away...

... and there he goes! He was all over that park!

After Aunt Jan got all the measurments, and mapped out where everthing was going to be, we all headed over to Big Lots. And after that Des and I shopped till about 8pm! We were way shopped out by the time we were done! I ended up staying all Sunday, and going home that night. Oh how I miss my family!

Why People Suck

This is my letter to the bug people and why they are terrible you probably have to zoom in to read it, I am about to write a letter to Renegade Sports where I got my scooter and go leave my scooter on the owners front porch and set the alarm off at 3 in the morning with the letter attached to it but one small step at a time first I'll take care of the bug people.

Also I thought this would be fun for the Secretary to figure out for the check!

One of my favorite things about my husband

I know it sounds funny, but one of my favorite things out of many about Jonny is coming home and finding chick flicks in the dvd player, and knowing he watched a movie last. And I love when I come home and I ask him, 'Did you watch a movie earlier?', and he'll just go 'Noooo.... yaaaa... '.

Well, today was another snowy day. I didn't get a picture because I think that would be actual proof later on in life that yes, on April 15th, 2008 it was a blizzard outside. And that is something I would like to just not remember. But seriously it snowed from 10am until about 6pm. And Jonny and I believing the deceiving weather, since it was so gorgeous outside yesterday, wore no coats, and Jonny even wore shorts to school and took his scootie. That will teach us to check the weather before we get dressed.

What the ...!

This is UNACCEPTABLE!! What day is it??? January?? February?? March?? NO-April! To wake up to snow on the ground just depresses me! I have been waiting to get all my summer clothes and shoes down from the attic for weeks. Each weekend I think "Yay! I can get all the summer stuff down, and pack up all my winter stuff!" NOPE, then this happens! I know this is an angry post... but come on!

On the bright side, Jonny just loves it!

Poor poor Roxy Girl! She got spayed the other day and keeps scratching her stitches so we had to get her a cone to put around her neck. She hates it!

"For the cat of course"

Last night I came home and there was this cat just sitting on our porch. Just sitting there, like it belonged to us. I thought ok, this is very random. So I snuck in the door, (it wanted to come in so bad)! And then the annoying part came, it sat on my porch for about 15 min just wining!
So I gave it some milk (I know what you are thinking, that was dumb, now it will never go away). But at least it shut the thing up. Then Jonny comes home about 9:00 and the cat was in the front flower beds just pacing, I'm sure Jonny's scooter scared it a little, and Jonny says "What's with the milk??" I say, "For the cat of course!"...
Lets just say for 2 hours that cat sat on the porch clawing at my door wining to get in. Who knows where it is now... hopefully it went home!

It's about time!

Well- the time has come! The time when you look in the mirror and it aint pretty! I am starting today, my eat better, exercise, life changing routine! My new friend Carlie and I are going to start going to the gym in the morning up on campus, I am super excited!
I did have a goal to be in shape by my first wedding anniversary, but since that is next month (hard to believe) I don't know if that is going to happen. But we'll see...
It's kinda funny that when you are engaged you work out, watch what you eat to fit in your wedding dress, and 'impress your husband'. But then when you get married, it all goes down hill! And lucky boys who can loose weight just as fast as they gain it. My lucky husband can eat whatever he wants and be in shape and skinny as ever. But today that is about to change. I might even think about quitting my long over due addiction of Dr.Pepper... but one thing at a time :)
So wish me luck!

Vacuum

I started vacuuming tonight, and Roxy immediately ran into her toy box and just sat there inside it. She even stayed there in the time that it took me to run and get my camera. What a silly dog...

Well, I am feeling better from my 'almost dead' state last week. And do you want to know what it was that was making me sick all week... EXTREMELY LOW POTASSIUM! I went to InstaCare twice last week, the second time they did a blood test (not pregnant! wahoo!) and the doc said that I was just really low on potassium. I'm thinking- "OH that explains my fatigue, nausea, achy, weakness, stiff muscles, pale, and just all over sickness"...
So 4 prescriptions later I am feeling much much better! I guess I'll need to start eating alot more banana's from now on.
By the way, Jonny's new schedule sucks! It's not too bad for him, he goes in at 9pm and then comes home at 12:30am. Sucks for me because the nights that I go into the hospital to work, I only get to see him for about 30 min a day if that. Oh well I guess, it's just the way it has to be until he graduates. It's actually not that different than his old job, just different hours, but I didn't see him very much then either. I just miss him soooo much!

Burt's Wedding

Tonight we went to Burt's wedding, and were so late! Our dear friend J.D. told us it was in Providence when in fact it was Smithfield, the completely other side of town. But we made it. The reception was really simple and nice. And it was fun to see all of our friends again. They are all getting married one by one...
A little family picture of the Holmes, they are all so photogenic.
This is Alexis, Rob and Leslie's daughter. She is so stinkin cute! (and yes that honkin ring on the left is Leslie's wedding ring!)
Burt and his new misses heading out... sorry these pictures are so out of order, I can't figure out how to rearrange them after I upload them.
Burt throwing the garter...
... and what do ya know J.D. caught it! He better start ring shopping!
Jonny and I :)
The 4 of us! They are some of the friends that we miss the most down in Salt Lake they are so awesome and so fun to hang out with! Like how the guys are sticking out their stomachs.

for Jill

Jill- I told you I would post a picture of Roxy's hair cut, and here it is! She looks so dang cute!
My wonderful husband brought me home flowers last night, he is always surprising me like that. I definitely lucked out on a good man!

Shoes

I love shoes! Ask my husband and he will tell you that is an understatement, and that I have an obsession with them. But what can I say, just like diamonds- shoes are a girls best friend! ... along with purses, clothes, jewelry etc :)
Anyways, I found these 'shoe helpful tips' that I thought I would share-

How to Keep Shoes in Shape
Professional or at-home repairs that will save your soles:

When to Go to a ProWhile you can do a few quick repairs at home, it’s often easier — and just as affordable — to make that (wobbly) trip to the shoe-repair shop.

Broken HeelThe Solution: A shoe pro can replace the metal pin that runs down the center of the heel. “Replace both heels at once for better balance,” says Louise Ramuta of Ramuta’s Shoe Repair, in Seattle.Cost: $10 to $30 per heel. Options If your stilettos tend to snap, create a sturdier pair of shoes by having the shop grind a quarter inch off the existing heels. Cost: $10.

Torn StrapThe Solution: Your shoe repairman can sew, glue, or tack a ripped strap back into place. Resist the urge to DIY with superglue, says Ramuta — it tends to crack leather. Cost: $6 to $12 per strap. Options If your straps are so brittle that you’d rather have them replaced, a shoe repairman can sew on a new, bone-colored strap, then dye it to match your shoes. Cost: $15 to $18.

Worn-Out SolesThe Solution: “Replace your soles when the centers feel soft and spongy,” says Frank Sorrentino, who replaces 50 to 100 soles a week as owner of Mont Clare Shoe Repair, in Chicago. Cost: $25 to replace leather soles; $15 to replace rubber soles. Options Apply thin rubber sole guards to the bottoms of new shoes to prolong their life. When the guards wear out, you can replace them rather than the soles. Cost: $15 to $20.

Ill-Fitting SlingbacksThe Solution: Your shoe repairman can shorten the straps, add elastic, or punch an extra hole in the buckle, says Nick Valenti of B. Nelson Shoes, in New York City. Cost: $5 and up to shorten the straps or add an extra hole; $8 and up to add elastic. Options: Transform slingbacks into slides by having the back straps removed. Ask a shoe pro for advice, though, since the front part alone might not be enough to hold your foot. Cost: $5.

Fading ColorThe Solution: To restore your black pumps to their original shade, pros remove as much of the existing color as possible, then apply at least two coats of dye, allowing 48 hours between coats. Cost: $12 to $20. Options: If those pink slingbacks are now a bit too Barbie for your tastes, you can dye them a new color, like black, navy, or camel. However, going from light to dark works best. Cost: $12 to $20.

Badly Scuffed or Torn ShoesThe Solution: A shoe repairman can sand and smooth the plastic base of the heel or replace the heel cover. But if there are deep gouges in the leather, you may need new shoes. Cost: $20 to $30. Options: If your dog is the culprit, Valenti recommends spritzing your shoes with bitter apple. RS pick: Grannick’s Bitter Apple Spray, $5, PetSmart, Petsmart.

Boots That Don't Fit in the CalfThe Solution: Can’t get that zipper all…the…way…up? Your shoe-repair shop can stretch the calf area or add a zipper or an elastic gusset (a triangular insert that allows more stretch up top). Cost: $15 to stretch the calf area; $35 to add an elastic gusset or a zipper. Options: Alternatively, if your boots are too big up top, have them taken in. “We take the boot apart, recut it to fit the contour of your leg, then resew it,” says Sorrentino. Cost: $35 and up.

Uncomfortable Pointy-Toes ShoesThe Solution: If your pointiest shoes have become unbearable, your shoe repairman can give them a more comfortable round-toe shape by using a round mold, says Ramuta. Cost: $35 and up. Options: You can also go from round to pointy-toed or change your conservative pumps into open-toed shoes. Cost: $35 and up.

Grateful

I just wanted to say to my wonderful husband thank you so much for taking care of me while I've been sick. I honestly don't remember the last time that I was this sick, and Jonny says that he's never seen me this sick. I just feel broken lately. A couple weeks ago I did something to my left foot and it hurt for a week and a half just walking on it, right before I made a doctor appointment it started feeling better which was good. Then Sunday night on our way home from Salt Lake I got real sick, and thought I had strep from Kristie. I ended up sleeping all Monday and never made it into the doctor, but then when I woke up my neck and shoulders and upper back hurt soo bad on top of the sick that I was already feeling! The worst pain I've felt in a long time. I got into a car accident a couple years ago, and permanently tore some muscles, ever since then if I sleep the wrong way, or have my neck turned a certain way for a long period of time I'm guaranteed pain. The weird thing about this was that I hadn't slept wrong or laid in an uncomfortable position for it to hurt that bad, but it did! I could not even turn my neck or anything, and the pain was excruciating! Jonny has only seen me cry a few times, and last night was one of them. I sent him to the store at 2am to get some IcyHot and some heating patches and some pain reliever. And that did not help, and so we went to InstaCare this morning, and I got some drugs! Although I don't know what is worse, the pain or the reaction to the drugs for the pain? I hadn't eaten since yesterday because I've had a bad stomach ache and had been feeling nauseous, so when I took some heavy duty muscle relaxers and some Lowertab (love that stuff!) it made me nauseous all over again, and so tired. Luckily I ended up sleeping all day, but when I woke up I made up for it. I could not keep anything down, which was weird bc I hadn't eaten anything, so I ate something bc i thought that's why I have been feeling nauseous and that certainly wasn't' the case, I think that lasted about 15 min after coming back up. Being sick just sucks! But all in all Jonny was such a great husband thru all of this! (that's what I initially wanted to write this post about, but got carried away). He did everything for me at the drop of a hat, and made sure that I was comfortable. Thanks for taking me to InstaCare, and nursing me back to health, well so far. You are an amazing husband and I love you soo much! I just hope I feel better tomorrow!
