IEEE BBQ
Jonathan is on the IEEE council at school, and on Friday night they had thier end of the year BBQ. It had snowed the day before so we were pretty nervous that it was going to be freezing, but it turned out to not be that bad. But it was still chilly. (Thanks Jess for letting me 'steal' some pics from you) :)

Love You
Monday I walked out to my car to find this little note, and flowers on my windshield. My cute hubby is too good to me sometimes!
Wedding Plans
A little late on posting (Sorry Megan), but this past weekend I went down to Salt Lake to go the the Wedding Planning Picnic in Murry Park. It was so nice outside, and it was fun seeing my family! I feel like I haven't been to Salt Lake in forever, which it has been about a month or so, so for me that is. Here is the bride-to-be, and miss Tora Bell...
James Craig thinking about running away...
... and there he goes! He was all over that park!
After Aunt Jan got all the measurments, and mapped out where everthing was going to be, we all headed over to Big Lots. And after that Des and I shopped till about 8pm! We were way shopped out by the time we were done! I ended up staying all Sunday, and going home that night. Oh how I miss my family!

Why People Suck
This is my letter to the bug people and why they are terrible you probably have to zoom in to read it, I am about to write a letter to Renegade Sports where I got my scooter and go leave my scooter on the owners front porch and set the alarm off at 3 in the morning with the letter attached to it but one small step at a time first I'll take care of the bug people.
Also I thought this would be fun for the Secretary to figure out for the check!

One of my favorite things about my husband
I know it sounds funny, but one of my favorite things out of many about Jonny is coming home and finding chick flicks in the dvd player, and knowing he watched a movie last. And I love when I come home and I ask him, 'Did you watch a movie earlier?', and he'll just go 'Noooo.... yaaaa... '.
Well, today was another snowy day. I didn't get a picture because I think that would be actual proof later on in life that yes, on April 15th, 2008 it was a blizzard outside. And that is something I would like to just not remember. But seriously it snowed from 10am until about 6pm. And Jonny and I believing the deceiving weather, since it was so gorgeous outside yesterday, wore no coats, and Jonny even wore shorts to school and took his scootie. That will teach us to check the weather before we get dressed.

What the ...!
This is UNACCEPTABLE!! What day is it??? January?? February?? March?? NO-April! To wake up to snow on the ground just depresses me! I have been waiting to get all my summer clothes and shoes down from the attic for weeks. Each weekend I think "Yay! I can get all the summer stuff down, and pack up all my winter stuff!" NOPE, then this happens! I know this is an angry post... but come on!
Poor poor Roxy Girl! She got spayed the other day and keeps scratching her stitches so we had to get her a cone to put around her neck. She hates it!

"For the cat of course"
Last night I came home and there was this cat just sitting on our porch. Just sitting there, like it belonged to us. I thought ok, this is very random. So I snuck in the door, (it wanted to come in so bad)! And then the annoying part came, it sat on my porch for about 15 min just wining!

It's about time!
Well- the time has come! The time when you look in the mirror and it aint pretty! I am starting today, my eat better, exercise, life changing routine! My new friend Carlie and I are going to start going to the gym in the morning up on campus, I am super excited!
I did have a goal to be in shape by my first wedding anniversary, but since that is next month (hard to believe) I don't know if that is going to happen. But we'll see... It's kinda funny that when you are engaged you work out, watch what you eat to fit in your wedding dress, and 'impress your husband'. But then when you get married, it all goes down hill! And lucky boys who can loose weight just as fast as they gain it. My lucky husband can eat whatever he wants and be in shape and skinny as ever. But today that is about to change. I might even think about quitting my long over due addiction of Dr.Pepper... but one thing at a time :)
So wish me luck!

Vacuum
I started vacuuming tonight, and Roxy immediately ran into her toy box and just sat there inside it. She even stayed there in the time that it took me to run and get my camera. What a silly dog...
Well, I am feeling better from my 'almost dead' state last week. And do you want to know what it was that was making me sick all week... EXTREMELY LOW POTASSIUM! I went to InstaCare twice last week, the second time they did a blood test (not pregnant! wahoo!) and the doc said that I was just really low on potassium. I'm thinking- "OH that explains my fatigue, nausea, achy, weakness, stiff muscles, pale, and just all over sickness"...
So 4 prescriptions later I am feeling much much better! I guess I'll need to start eating alot more banana's from now on.
By the way, Jonny's new schedule sucks! It's not too bad for him, he goes in at 9pm and then comes home at 12:30am. Sucks for me because the nights that I go into the hospital to work, I only get to see him for about 30 min a day if that. Oh well I guess, it's just the way it has to be until he graduates. It's actually not that different than his old job, just different hours, but I didn't see him very much then either. I just miss him soooo much!

Burt's Wedding
Tonight we went to Burt's wedding, and were so late! Our dear friend J.D. told us it was in Providence when in fact it was Smithfield, the completely other side of town. But we made it. The reception was really simple and nice. And it was fun to see all of our friends again. They are all getting married one by one...
A little family picture of the Holmes, they are all so photogenic.
for Jill
Jill- I told you I would post a picture of Roxy's hair cut, and here it is! She looks so dang cute!

Shoes
I love shoes! Ask my husband and he will tell you that is an understatement, and that I have an obsession with them. But what can I say, just like diamonds- shoes are a girls best friend! ... along with purses, clothes, jewelry etc :)
Anyways, I found these 'shoe helpful tips' that I thought I would share-

How to Keep Shoes in Shape
Professional or at-home repairs that will save your soles:
Professional or at-home repairs that will save your soles:
When to Go to a ProWhile you can do a few quick repairs at home, it’s often easier — and just as affordable — to make that (wobbly) trip to the shoe-repair shop.
Broken HeelThe Solution: A shoe pro can replace the metal pin that runs down the center of the heel. “Replace both heels at once for better balance,” says Louise Ramuta of Ramuta’s Shoe Repair, in Seattle.Cost: $10 to $30 per heel. Options If your stilettos tend to snap, create a sturdier pair of shoes by having the shop grind a quarter inch off the existing heels. Cost: $10.
Torn StrapThe Solution: Your shoe repairman can sew, glue, or tack a ripped strap back into place. Resist the urge to DIY with superglue, says Ramuta — it tends to crack leather. Cost: $6 to $12 per strap. Options If your straps are so brittle that you’d rather have them replaced, a shoe repairman can sew on a new, bone-colored strap, then dye it to match your shoes. Cost: $15 to $18.
Worn-Out SolesThe Solution: “Replace your soles when the centers feel soft and spongy,” says Frank Sorrentino, who replaces 50 to 100 soles a week as owner of Mont Clare Shoe Repair, in Chicago. Cost: $25 to replace leather soles; $15 to replace rubber soles. Options Apply thin rubber sole guards to the bottoms of new shoes to prolong their life. When the guards wear out, you can replace them rather than the soles. Cost: $15 to $20.
Ill-Fitting SlingbacksThe Solution: Your shoe repairman can shorten the straps, add elastic, or punch an extra hole in the buckle, says Nick Valenti of B. Nelson Shoes, in New York City. Cost: $5 and up to shorten the straps or add an extra hole; $8 and up to add elastic. Options: Transform slingbacks into slides by having the back straps removed. Ask a shoe pro for advice, though, since the front part alone might not be enough to hold your foot. Cost: $5.
Fading ColorThe Solution: To restore your black pumps to their original shade, pros remove as much of the existing color as possible, then apply at least two coats of dye, allowing 48 hours between coats. Cost: $12 to $20. Options: If those pink slingbacks are now a bit too Barbie for your tastes, you can dye them a new color, like black, navy, or camel. However, going from light to dark works best. Cost: $12 to $20.
Badly Scuffed or Torn ShoesThe Solution: A shoe repairman can sand and smooth the plastic base of the heel or replace the heel cover. But if there are deep gouges in the leather, you may need new shoes. Cost: $20 to $30. Options: If your dog is the culprit, Valenti recommends spritzing your shoes with bitter apple. RS pick: Grannick’s Bitter Apple Spray, $5, PetSmart, Petsmart.
Boots That Don't Fit in the CalfThe Solution: Can’t get that zipper all…the…way…up? Your shoe-repair shop can stretch the calf area or add a zipper or an elastic gusset (a triangular insert that allows more stretch up top). Cost: $15 to stretch the calf area; $35 to add an elastic gusset or a zipper. Options: Alternatively, if your boots are too big up top, have them taken in. “We take the boot apart, recut it to fit the contour of your leg, then resew it,” says Sorrentino. Cost: $35 and up.
Uncomfortable Pointy-Toes ShoesThe Solution: If your pointiest shoes have become unbearable, your shoe repairman can give them a more comfortable round-toe shape by using a round mold, says Ramuta. Cost: $35 and up. Options: You can also go from round to pointy-toed or change your conservative pumps into open-toed shoes. Cost: $35 and up.

Grateful
I just wanted to say to my wonderful husband thank you so much for taking care of me while I've been sick. I honestly don't remember the last time that I was this sick, and Jonny says that he's never seen me this sick. I just feel broken lately. A couple weeks ago I did something to my left foot and it hurt for a week and a half just walking on it, right before I made a doctor appointment it started feeling better which was good. Then Sunday night on our way home from Salt Lake I got real sick, and thought I had strep from Kristie. I ended up sleeping all Monday and never made it into the doctor, but then when I woke up my neck and shoulders and upper back hurt soo bad on top of the sick that I was already feeling! The worst pain I've felt in a long time. I got into a car accident a couple years ago, and permanently tore some muscles, ever since then if I sleep the wrong way, or have my neck turned a certain way for a long period of time I'm guaranteed pain. The weird thing about this was that I hadn't slept wrong or laid in an uncomfortable position for it to hurt that bad, but it did! I could not even turn my neck or anything, and the pain was excruciating! Jonny has only seen me cry a few times, and last night was one of them. I sent him to the store at 2am to get some IcyHot and some heating patches and some pain reliever. And that did not help, and so we went to InstaCare this morning, and I got some drugs! Although I don't know what is worse, the pain or the reaction to the drugs for the pain? I hadn't eaten since yesterday because I've had a bad stomach ache and had been feeling nauseous, so when I took some heavy duty muscle relaxers and some Lowertab (love that stuff!) it made me nauseous all over again, and so tired. Luckily I ended up sleeping all day, but when I woke up I made up for it. I could not keep anything down, which was weird bc I hadn't eaten anything, so I ate something bc i thought that's why I have been feeling nauseous and that certainly wasn't' the case, I think that lasted about 15 min after coming back up. Being sick just sucks! But all in all Jonny was such a great husband thru all of this! (that's what I initially wanted to write this post about, but got carried away). He did everything for me at the drop of a hat, and made sure that I was comfortable. Thanks for taking me to InstaCare, and nursing me back to health, well so far. You are an amazing husband and I love you soo much! I just hope I feel better tomorrow!

Weekend
This weekend in the beginning was super fun, and ended with me being sick! ... thanks Kristie! Just kidding, but she ended up with strep, I hope she is feeling better.
Friday night Des and Kristie came up and we had girls night. It was so much fun! We ended up falling asleep early around midnight, and then stayed in our pajama's until about 4pm when we decided to get ready and browsed some stores ate at Costa Vida, and they left about 7 ish, and Jonny and I went to a orchestra thing that he had to do for class. It was not the funnest. But we ran into our friends Katie and Matt and sat with them, and they are so funny! So that made it funner. Then Jonny went to work and got home about 12:30 am . . .
. . . and stayed up till 4 am making this! We were in charge of dessert at his parents house for Easter and he made dirt. He really went all out with it!
Good thing too, because it was a big hit! He was so proud of himself, and so was I. He'll definitely have to do it again sometime!
I literally had nothing to do with making this creation. . . if any one knows us at all you know that Jonny is the cook in the family :)
Then on the way home Sunday night I got so sick! Stayed home from work in the morning trying to sleep some of it off, went into work for a few hours, was going to go to the doctor for a strep test after I found out that Kristie had it, but ended up sleeping the rest of the day, and it's now 9:30pm and I feel a lot better! Jonny is funny though, he is very 'I'm not getting sick!' and is jugging Airborne like its water!

Denver for the day
Well we flew to Denver this past Wed to buy a new car and drive it home! Our beloved 93 Lumina has finally given up on us... so we started shopping around for new cars. We were on KSL.com and saw this Pontiac Vibe that we just fell in love with! Which is a car that we totally never thought we would see ourselves driving! So we started looking around for them, and those cars are hard to find. We finally found one in Loveland CO, which was perfect bc his sister lives in Boulder CO and my mom could get us free airline passes (thanks Mom!). We thought every thing was coming together so wonderfully, free passes, spring break, fun road trip, spend the day with his sister, new car... what could go wrong?? EVERYTHING! We had to get up at 4am (mind you we went to bed at 2am) to drive to Salt Lake to catch a plane at 7am. Well low and behold our trusty Lumina knew that we were getting rid of him, and as soon as we got outside of Logan the check engine light comes on. In the many many years that Jonny has driven it, the check engine light has never come on! So we knew it was a sign and were so excited! We dropped Roxy off at my aunt Jill's and she drove us to the airport. We got to Denver around 8:30am and goofed around until his sister Jannell got there. She picks us up and we go out and eat breakfast at the cutest and most yummy place ever, went to Jannell's house to get the directions and headed over to the dealership! YAY!
Well- the dealership was not no 20 min away like Map Quest led us to believe, it was more like 45 min to an hour. But we didn't mind we were just way excited to see our new car! We get there and went inside and I ran to the bathroom really fast, when I came out Jonny was already at the car, and as soon as I saw his face I new it was bad...
What a freaking scam that dealership was!!! And what a piece of crap car! Janell and Rolf and Jonny and I take the car out for a spin, before we did that though it was evident we were not driving home in this car! It had cigarette burns in the seats (when we were assured that it was a non-smoking car), dog hair every where, non even vacuumed! So we all jump in regardless and took it for a spin.
This car immediately crushed our new car dreams! It didn't drive well at all, and then we found out when Janell leaned against the hood that it had no parking break! We all took turns driving it then drove it right back to that crummy awful dealership.
Now I know what many of you are thinking, who flies out to buy a car that they have never seen??? Now we know! But in our defense, we did do the research, and were sent many pictures (which must have been photo shopped) and my loving adorable husband lives in the 1950's era and trusts every one :)
After we got back to the dealership, we went inside and of course we get asked by the lady who we had spoken to many times on the phone previously and who had assured us this was an awesome and perfect car for us "How was it??" with a huge smile on her face and ready to make a sale. Jonny and I both shot her a look that got her worried, went into her office and I honestly think steam must have been coming out of my ears because she knew that I was so mad. We told her that we are very disappointed in the car and her. That we flew over 500 miles to come buy a car that wasn't even vacuumed! She was of course shocked by this and didn't know what we were talking about- WHATEVER!
We ended up flying home carless and with a broken heart. And we knew that we couldn't drive the Lumina back to Logan there is no way that it would make it, we had to buy a car right when we got home. Well, Jonny had remembered that he saw a Vibe GT for sale in Taylorsville, it was just a little more money than we had planned to spend, but with hopefull hearts we thought we would atleast go and look at it when our plane landed.
Jill picked us up from the airport and of course when you buy a car you immediately start seeing them every where, I swear I have never seen a Pontiac Vibe any where and now I see them everywhere! And that didn't fail on the way to Jill's from the airport. She turned into her neighborhood, and I look over and in my most disappointed, jealous voice say 'Oh look there's a Vibe", sitting in someone driveway. And then Jonny says "It has a for sale sign on it!". I scream "REVERSE!", jumped out of the car, and it was the car that we saw on KSL that we were going to check out! We ring the doorbell and I say "We are here to buy your car!". I think the elderly lady was a little shocked to see this young couple on her porch and totally excited. We explained the whole story to her and her husband about the stupid car in Denver, and test drove their Vibe and was in LOVE!
So we flew all the way to Denver to end up buying a car two blocks away from my aunt!
But I think we made the right decision! We haven't taken pictures yet but we will shortly so we can show off our new car!
Here are just some goofing off pictures in the Denver Airport. There is this sweet Harley giveaway that of course we entered... and of course we'll never win. But you never know.

Accomplished
I love those days when you feel totally accomplished! Yesterday I worked my my normal job during the day, then went to the hospital and worked there for a couple of hours, came home and did my Turbo Jam (the best workout ever). And actually did a whole workout! Since I do it in my living room it's very easy to just sit down on the couch and watch the people on the TV work out. Then I took Roxy on a quick run around the block, which she is totally incapable of doing, all she did is play tug of war with the leash and had to be held the the rest of the way home and we were only half way around the block. Cleaned my house, and waited for Jonny to get home, popped some pop corn and watched American Gangsters.... well, Jonny watched it while I fell asleep as usual in any movie.

The Holmes!
Saturday night Robert and Leslie were up visiting Leslie's family and they were able to sneak away and hang out with us. It was so much fun!! I miss them soo much! Robert and Jonny and I have know each other since high school years and Robert and Leslie have been married for over a year now. Leslie is so awesome too! They fit each other perfect! We went to Walmart to find a movie to watch and ended up goofing around, buying 'non movie' items and just watching a movie we already had at our house.
This is Jonny and Robert showing off their huge gumballs Jonny got out of a quarter machine.

Hardware Ranch
This past Saturday Jonny's sister Julianne and her family came up from Lehi and we went to Hardware Ranch in Hyrum. It was so much fun! You go on a sleigh ride and they take you up by all the elk they have up there. You are literally right there next to them. It was so much fun! Of course they tease me, because I am a 'what if' person and 'what if they all the sudden attack!'... you never know...
This is just a shot to show how many were there, they said that there were about 600 elk there at the time.
We got done in the nick of time too, right when we were getting into our car it started so sprinkle a little bit.
After the sleigh ride we had a picnic lunch in the visitor center and then the Olson family came up to our house. They haven't seen it yet, so we were excited about that. Thanks for coming up guys! We love ya!
